Eco-Friendly
EV Components
The truth about eco-friendly manufacturing is that there is no such thing as a perfect solution, there is only a journey toward better and more effective ways of working. This is a journey that Cutting Blue is engaged in across a range of operational areas. First and foremost is the fact that we refuse to deal with companies working in environmentally damaging sectors such as oil and gas, which means that clients who come to us can be certain that their names will never be tainted through a connection to ‘dirty’ industries.
Our 2200 square foot facility is located close to Birmingham city centre and has excellent transport links, including an on-site train station, make it easy for employees to utilise public transport when travelling to and from work. We recycle as much waste as possible during production and work with EDF, a supplier of low carbon energy, means that we can keep our carbon footprint down while sourcing cleaner energy we can rely upon. In addition to our work in the EV-market, we manufacture bike-parts, angling accessories, components used in the marine industry and parts for electric powered extreme sports. The only limit we place on the work we do is that it doesn’t hinder our efforts to supply components in an eco-friendly manner.
Looking to minimise your carbon footprint?
Our commitment to an eco-friendly approach extends beyond the practicalities of manufacture.
We are currently working toward installing carbon neutral machine tools from DMG Mori, ensuring that our high quality milling of aluminium, plastics and other lightweight materials such as titanium and carbon fibre will be delivered with minimum environmental impact.
We also support engineering student placements in order to help drive the next generation of high-skilled, top class engineers, as well as sponsoring bodies like the Oxford Brookes Formula Student team as they build their first fully electric car.
In simple terms, clients who work with Cutting Blue can be certain that every decision we take has been examined through the prism of the impact it will have on the environment. We haven’t reached eco-friendly perfection yet, but working with us means joining us on a journey toward a better future.

Aluminium & Plastic carbon neutral solutions for a sustainable future
Cutting Blue isn’t the only company to work in the EV field, but few are as committed to a green mission and the environmentally friendly values supporting that mission as we are. We only deal with companies in areas such as EV micro-mobility, leisure, recreational and marine, as well as those engaging in R&D in the field of sustainability.
More importantly, we never work with industries in the oil and gas sectors, meaning that our clients know that working with us will never compromise the green values important to them and to their customers.
The environmental ISO 14001 standard was introduced to reflect the wider shift toward an environmentally friendly approach to doing business, and it is a certification which Cutting Blue is working toward obtaining.
The approach we take means that working with Cutting Blue does nothing to add to the environmental burden our clients have to deal with. It includes the following:
Clients who work with us know that as well as offering sustainable manufacturing we can provide advice on R&D projects. Our experience in the EV sector enables us to work with clients to modify designs in a way which simplifies the manufacturing process. A faster, simpler process not only reduces overall costs and thus the price per part, it also means less energy and resources being used. Having examined the options and requirements for a specific part we will be able to advise on any suitable manufacturing alternative.
